Howard County Chamber Launches a New Business-to-Government Initiative
Emphasizing Opportunities in Cyber Security

The Howard County Chamber of Commerce (HCCC) introduces GovConnects, a business-to-government initiative enabling Chamber members to benefit from the significant growth of the cyber security industry and other federal contracting activity in Maryland.

Business opportunities have been generated by the physical presence of U.S. Cyber Command, NSA, and defense contractors in and around Howard County. Area businesses need a resource for educational opportunities and a forum for networking focused specifically on this niche. GovConnects will meet this need by providing targeted events and current information guided by experienced contracting participants.

In addition, while incidents of commercial cyber attacks have been reported recently in the news, businesses are not sufficiently aware of this threat to their operations and community. GovConnects will offer opportunities for local businesses to become more educated about the impact of this threat on their day-to-day operations and the growth opportunities associated with the cyber security industry.
