Event and Program Committees
- Program Committee
This committee identifies speakers and themes for all major Chamber events
- Chamber Cup Committee
This committee is
responsible for the planning and preparation of this highly anticipated event. Duties include event logistics, sponsorship recruitment, selling raffle tickets and coordinating volunteers for the day of the tournament.
- Holiday Party
The Holiday Party Committee is responsible for the selection of entertainment, development of a theme and creation of the overall ambiance for the evening.
- Signature Event
This committee plans the event that celebrates the individuals and companies who, by their involvement in the Chamber, have accomplished great things in the area. Responsibilities include choosing entertainment and event logistics.
Workforce Development & Education
- Workforce Development Committee
This committee assesses workforce development needs and identifies strategies, strategic partnerships, resource partners and educational opportunities to meet those needs.
- Workforce Readiness Committee
Working with the

committee helps

workforce through
programs and
partnerships that
provide the skills
needed to support
the future success
and growth of the business community.

Council With

new committee was
started in 2008 to
determine beneficial
programs and
initiatives to serve
small business, as
well as plan a small
business conference.
Legislative Committee
- This committee serves as the chief research and advisory committee to the Chamber board and
membership on public policy and government affairs matters that affect business success in Howard County. This committee oversees the draft of the Chamber's annual position paper, and reviews and recommends a strategy and position for both local and state legislative matters. While all members are welcome to participate, only one eligible volunteer from each member company is allowed to vote on issues addressed.

Membership Committeess
- Membership Committee
This task force explores how to add value to Chamber membership through products and services that would benefit a broad range of members. It also focuses on how to attract new members.
- Ambassadors
Ambassadors serve in all events as representatives of the Chamber by assisting new members, and answering questions related to the Chamber. They also assist in recruiting and retaining members. Members of this committee are enthusiastic, dependable, and organized.
- Business Recognition Committee
The Business Recognition Committee nominates member businesses for awards to acknowledge their contributions to the local business community. Meetings are held to identify awards and nominees.
- Sponsorship Committee
This committee develops sponsorship opportunities, recruits, retains, and delivers value to current and prospective sponsors.
Communications Committee
- This committee
examines the
effectiveness of
Chamber marketing
programs through an
audit of current
print and electronic
communications.
Committee members
may also lend
assistance to
Chamber public
relations efforts.
